Comprehensive set of marketing imagery captured of a stunning development of flats in Farnham, Surrey

We were recently commissioned by luxury property developer Hedge Hunter to take a set of promotional photographs of their latest project, the stunning ‘The Bridge’ development of flats in the heart of Farnham, Surrey. The striking golden and cream building occupies an enviable position with views over the River Wey and the Gostrey Meadow public park, as well as having a large frontage onto the bustling South Street.

The brief was to capture:

External photographs of the development, showing how it nestles into the surrounding landscape
Internal photographs of a show flat
Matterport Virtual Tour of a show flat, and
A promotional film of the development

Starting outside, we first captured numerous photographs of the development:

From a distance, incorporating the surrounding buildings and landscaping
In close-up, focusing on small abstract parts of the architecture
From ground-level, and
From our 9-metre portable telescopic pole!

We had to visit the site more than once as the various facades of the building only received sunshine at specific (and different) times of the day (the road-facing facade received the sun in the morning but the rear of the building received sun in the afternoon).

Once we had taken the external photographs we moved inside one of the beautifully-dressed show flats on the second floor with views over South Street. Here we initially took a set of wide-angle shots of each of the rooms, intended to give an idea of the space, layout and airiness of the flat.

All our internal photographs are taken with natural light, post-processed using specialist exposure-fusion software (to retain details in the very bright and very dark areas of the images — something the human eye does automatically) and then individually post-processed so all the images appear as a cohesive set, with no variation in colour temperature, brightness or style of composition.

After taking the wide-angle photographs we then walked around the flat taking more abstract / close-up photos of fixtures, fittings and the beautiful furniture which had been used to dress the house. Some of these abstract shots can be seen below.

Whilst taking the internal and external photographs of this development we also took stabilised video footage in and around the building. The numerous short clips were then cut together and set to suitable backing music and the final promotional film can be watched below. Be sure to watch it full-screen and with the volume turned up!

Finally … (!) after taking all the photographs and video footage we walked around the show flat with our 3D-scanning Matterport Camera and created the following Virtual Tour of the flat.
