Last month we were commissioned to photograph a large residential extension of a stunning countryside property in Wormley, Surrey. From the outside the extension ... well, didn't look like an extension! — so well-executed was the design by Godalming-based MVL Architects. The extension consisted of a remodelled kitchen and open-plan dining area, and a large additional wing including a new entrance, utility rooms, washroom and study.

MVL Architects asked us to fully document the extension from both outside an in which involved visiting the site twice to capture the exterior of the property in the most favourable lighting conditions — once in the morning and again in the afternoon.

They also asked for some slightly elevated shots to be taken of the outside of the property to add a different perspective to the final images — we took these shots with our hand-held 6-metre telescopic pole.

Below are a handful of the images of the exterior of the property that we took for MVL Architects. Click any of the images to enlarge them:

If you look carefully at the second-to-last image (the view looking flat-on to the property) you can just make out the 'join' between the existing house and the new extension which sits roughly half-way along the building's length, and cuts through the diagonally-sloping roof line — a subtle change in brick colour is noticeable. The entire roof of the property was re-tiled whilst the extension was being added, so the joint between the roof sections is seamless.

And now here is a selection of the interior photographs we took:
