Telescopic mast brings new dimension to squash training at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to view a sports game from above to analyse how the players are moving? Perhaps you’re a coach of a football or rugby team and want to help improve your players’ performance by pointing out their mistakes on slow-motion video taken from an aerial perspective?

This is exactly what we did with Jesse Engelbrecht, squash coach at the Surrey Sports Park and owner of the Jesse Engelbrecht Squash Academy.

If you were to ask people about the images that came to mind when Basingstoke was mentioned, I expect many would think of office blocks, shops, roundabouts, industrial and housing estates set within a thriving town.

However, if you ‘row back’ just a few miles from the town centre, there is a diverse range of landmarks, open spaces, activities and destinations for people to explore and enjoy; all set in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Hampshire is known as Jane Austen country. Famous novels such as Pride & Prejudice were drafted from her home in Steventon, just 7 miles from Basingstoke, but a world away in many ways.

David Hogg gives talk to Godalming Photographic Club on Panorama Photography

Earlier this week, our Director, David Hogg, gave an evening-long talk on the topic of Panorama Photography at Godalming Photographic Club in Surrey. The content of the talk was designed to introduce members to the concept of image stitching, and covered its range of powerful applications including gigapixel panoramas, spherical panoramas and virtual tours – as well as simply being able to capture wider vistas and taller skyscrapers when on holiday!
